Kipps Brighton is published by Kipps Brighton Media LLC, an independent media company based in Charleston, South Carolina. This page explains the principles behind our writing and the commercial arrangements that may fund it.
Editorial independence
Our guides and method essays are written without interference from advertisers, tourism boards, hotels, or other outside parties. No commercial relationship can buy, alter, or remove a recommendation. When we describe a route as workable, it is because the reporting supports that judgment.
How we report
Pieces combine desk research with field observation where relevant. Practical claims — distances, park access, train patterns, institutional hours — are checked against official or primary sources. Each long-form guide ends with a Source note listing the references used. Prices, hours, and access rules change; readers should verify essentials before travel.
Accuracy & corrections
We correct mistakes promptly. If you spot an error, write to [email protected]. Substantive corrections are noted on the relevant article when practical so readers can see what changed.
Use of artificial intelligence
Editorial judgment, sourcing decisions, and final copy responsibility sit with human editors at the Charleston desk. Software may assist with spelling, formatting, image production, or production workflow, but it does not replace our standards for accuracy and disclosure.
Advertising & affiliate disclosure
Kipps Brighton is a publishing and web-media site. We may fund the journal in transparent ways:
- Reader support. Free newsletter subscriptions and, over time, optional memberships.
- Display advertising. Clearly labeled advertisements may appear. Advertisers do not receive editorial coverage in exchange for spend, and ad sales are kept separate from writing.
- Affiliate or partner tools. If we later add a travel-search or booking utility, we will disclose it here and near the tool. Any commission never changes the editorial recommendation, and it never costs the reader an extra fee for using the link.
